Using the most up-to-date techniques and technologies, we offer our patients a wide range of dental treatments,
from routine check ups to complete restoration and cosmetic treatments to ensure you have "Confidence In Your Smile".

Veneers are thin custom-made laminates that are permanently affixed to your teeth.

They have been around since the 1980s and have grown in popularity to the point that they are now an integral part of cosmetic dentistry. The veneer options we offer are the same as those chosen by many celebrities

The purpose of veneers is to close gaps, straighten teeth, replace worn edges or resurface discoloured teeth. They are often used in conjunction with teeth-whitening and orthodontics to enhance a smile. There are two types of veneer: porcelain and composite (resin).

Veneers are customised to individual teeth in your mouth, allowing precise control over position, size, shape, texture and shade. Fitting veneers can be a fast procedure complete in just one or two dental visits, meaning you could have your new smile in just a few hours or within the week. Veneers are probably the most aesthetically pleasing and natural-looking restorations, as porcelain is one of the most durable materials used in dentistry. Porcelain veneers are nearly as strong as a healthy natural tooth.

Types of Veneer

Lumineers

Traditional veneers are generally around 0.5mm thick and thus require more aggressive and irreversible removal of healthy tooth structure. The extensive preparation technique frequently requires anaesthesia to minimize sensitivity and pain, and typically involves placement of acrylic temporaries for over two weeks between visits.

Lumineers are contact-lens thin: approximately 0.2mm. Because they’re so thin, Lumineers require little or no tooth reduction in order to be fitted.

The minimally invasive Lumineers technique typically eliminates the need for anaesthesia, so you’ll feel good while you wait for your custom-made Lumineers.

Emax Veneers

Emax Veneers are made from a material called Emax, which is manufactured by Ivolcar Vivadent, one of the world’s leading dental companies. Emax is a high-strength porcelain that is perfect for veneers. This material can be used in a variety of dental restorations to improve the aesthetic appearance or functionality of teeth.

Perhaps the biggest advantage of Emax Veneers is that they don’t require teeth to be ground down or reshaped to the same degree as many other veneer products. This affords the possibility that the procedure can be reversed if a patient changes his or her mind after the veneers have been fitted. With thicker veneers this is not an option, as the natural teeth have been altered so drastically they will always need something to cover them up. With conventional treatment, the layers of the tooth that can bond best with the ceramic tend to be chipped away, but with Emax the strong enamel is left mainly intact. This enamel fixes better to the veneers than the layers beneath it would. Generally speaking, there is less reshaping to be done with Emax Veneers than with other types.

The materials used to make up Emax Veneers are stained and glazed to give a more natural smile than pure white porcelains. A higher translucency creates the appearance of real enamel teeth. A layer of high-strength porcelain can be added over the top of the veneer to make it look even more lifelike. This costs extra and makes the shell a little thicker, so more reshaping of the natural teeth may have to be done to make room for the additional layer of porcelain.

Mac Veneers

Made by highly skilled Californian dental technicians at Micro Dental Labs in California, Mac Veneers are the strongest porcelain veneers available. Mac Veneers are made from a pressable ceramic which is 2-3 times stronger than most other veneer materials. Styled and shaped meticulously by ceramists, these veneers produce traffic-stopping smiles.

The level of detail achievable with MAC Veneers is incredible, with no one able to tell the difference between a MAC Veneered tooth and a healthy white tooth. Highly resistant to staining and chipping, Mac Veneers have a beautiful, natural appearance.

To fit Mac Veneers, we gently etch the teeth you want to cover. Impressions and images are taken then sent to the MicroDental Laboratory along with notes of your desired colour and shape. You return to the practice after your custom-made MAC Veneers have been created. Some mild preparation treatment may be needed to ensure the ideal surface for your new veneers. Then your MAC Veneers are fitted and your new smile is complete.

daVinci Veneers

daVinci Veneers are ultra-thin shells of ceramic material which are bonded to the front of your teeth in a minimally invasive process that may be the ideal choice for improving the appearance of your smile. These veneers are designed to mask discolorations, close spaces, brighten your teeth and improve the appeal of your smile. As well as being highly resistant to permanent staining from coffee, tea or cigarette smoking, the daVinci Veneer forms a strong bond to the tooth, resulting in a natural look that is unsurpassed by other restorative options.

More than three decades ago, daVinci was the first laboratory to introduce porcelain veneers to the west coast of the United States. They have a wealth of experience in both artistic craftsmanship and detail to aesthetics. That’s part of the reason daVinci is the leader in cosmetic dentistry. The quality dentistry of daVinci has been seen on the TV shows Extreme Makeover and The Swan. A daVinci smile can enhance your self-confidence.

In most cases patients need three appointments for the entire procedure: (1) diagnosis; (2) plan of treatment; (3) bonding. Preparing your teeth for daVinci Veneers will take between 1 to 2 hours, depending on the number of teeth to be restored. Your teeth will be slightly modified to allow for addition of the veneers, which are about the thickness of a contact lens. After preparation a mould is taken of the appropriate teeth. This is sent to daVinci for processing, which takes between one and two weeks. Then we can create your new smile!

Snap-On Smiles

A Snap-On Smile is a cosmetic dental device made from flexible acetyl resin, which can be ‘snapped’ over your natural teeth for an instant smile makeover. The device clips on easily, over and around your teeth, and can be worn on a daily basis. Treatment is non-invasive, comfortable and represents an affordable alternative to veneers. This could be a low-cost way to a beautiful new smile.

Snap-On Smiles resemble a natural set of healthy, attractive teeth. Snap-On Smiles are matched to the colour of natural teeth, so the results are extremely lifelike. They are created to fit your mouth perfectly, without the need for any bonding or adhesives.

Your new set of teeth can fit around your natural teeth, giving you confidence to let your smile loose on the world. A Snap-On Smile represents a low-cost, reversible alternative to permanent veneers.
