Good news, it is easier than ever to have a smile you can be confident in.
Many people have discoloured teeth due factors such as caffeinated drinks, red wine, smoking and poor oral hygiene. Crooked teeth are also common. Good news, though - it is easier than ever to have a smile you can be confident in. Feeling happy to smile, talk and eat with confidence increases our ease in social situations.
At Falkirk Dental Care we have years of experience in enhancing smiles. Choose the option that suits you best and let us give you a Hollywood smile.
Our Hollywood Smile Treatments
Teeth-whitening treatments have become common in recent years. Bleaching is the most common method. Prior to bleaching, you should visit an experienced dentist who will check the health of your teeth and gums. Bleaching is a straightforward treatment, but done wrongly it can damage teeth, lips and gums. With professional bleaching treatments, you will usually see a difference in the colour of your teeth over a period of around four weeks.
During a number of visits to your dentist, you will be fitted for a gum shield which your dentist will then fill with whitening agent of appropriate strength. In most cases, this agent is a gel that contains hydrogen peroxide. Most professional bleaching products require patients to continue the treatment in their own time. So in addition to our dentists applying a stronger whitening agent to your teeth during treatments, you will be given a slightly milder version to apply yourself at home. This ensures that the whitening process is continuous.
Laser whitening is becoming increasingly popular. This is a new technique that works much faster than professional bleaching treatments. A bleaching agent is painted onto teeth then ‘zapped’ with a laser to start the chemical whitening process. Prior to laser whitening, you will have an initial consultation with your dentist. Once approved for treatment, you can receive laser whitening and could see results in less than an hour.
At Falkirk Dental Clinic we offer four revolutionary teeth-straightening systems: Invisalign, Cfast, Inman Aligner, and Six Month Smiles. Choose the one that suits your needs. Talk to us if you want advice on which is the most appropriate system for you.

Veneers are thin custom-made laminates that are permanently fixed to teeth. The veneer options we offer are the same ones chosen by many celebrities. The purpose of veneers is to close gaps, straighten teeth, replace worn edges or resurface discoloured teeth. They are often used in conjunction with tooth-whitening and orthodontics to produce an enhanced smile. There are two types of veneer: porcelain and composite (resin). Veneers are customised to individual teeth in your mouth, allowing precise control over position, size, shape, texture and colour.
Fitting veneers can be a fast procedure complete in just one or two dental visits, meaning you could have your new smile in a few hours or within the week. Veneers are probably the most aesthetically pleasing and natural-looking restorations, as porcelain is one of the most durable materials used in dentistry. Porcelain veneers are nearly as strong as a healthy natural tooth. At Falkirk Dental Care we offer four brands of veneer: Lumineers; Emax Veneers; Mac Veneers; daVinci Veneers.
A Snap-On Smile is a cosmetic dental device made from flexible acetyl resin, which can be ‘snapped’ over your natural teeth for an instant smile makeover. The device clips on easily, over and around your teeth, and can be worn on a day-to-day basis. Treatment is non-invasive, comfortable and represents an affordable alternative to veneers. This could be a low-cost way to a beautiful new smile.
A Snap-On Smile looks like a natural set of healthy, attractive teeth. Snap-On Smiles are matched to the colour of natural teeth, so the results are extremely lifelike. They are created to fit your mouth perfectly, without the need for any bonding or adhesives. Your new set of teeth can fit around your natural teeth, giving you confidence to smile. A Snap-On Smile represents a low-cost, reversible alternative to permanent veneers.
Some people show a lot of gum when they smile. This is not due to a medical condition, nor is it detrimental to the long-term health of teeth or gums. Our goal when treating gummy smiles is cosmetic improvement. A gummy smile can be improved at an affordable cost. The most popular treatment for a gummy smile is gum contouring (reshaping). A dentist uses a special laser to trim and shape gums into the perfect smile. It is a straightforward process done under local anaesthetic.
The laser naturally seals up the wounds it makes as gums are cut away, meaning there is no need for any stitches, which would increase healing time. Gum contouring is suitable only for cases where the gums need to be trimmed and shaped lightly. In cases where the cosmetic dental work needs to produce a greater effect, a surgical procedure called crown lengthening may be necessary.
In this procedure the gums are reshaped then cut away from the tooth and replaced in the optimum position. Stitches are required to hold the gums in their new positions, so the healing time is longer for this procedure. For many patients interested in improving the aesthetics of their smile, gum contouring is only one part of the solution. As a treatment, it often forms part of a broader plan that may include orthodontic work to straighten a crooked smile, or veneers/whitening to make your teeth gleam.
