Our Patient Charter is a statement of how Falkirk Dental Care operates and the standards of care that we apply to all our patients.

It defines our responsibilities and the high standards we strive to maintain and improve upon.

To maintain these standards also requires your co-operation and the Charter therefore also defines your responsibilities to us as a patient.

Our Responsibilities

To do all we can to increase your knowledge in order to promote better oral health and better general health

To make you feel welcome in our practice and treat you with dignity and respect

To listen to you and understand your dental problems

To provide you with all of the options and to ensure that you are fully informed

To allow you to make the choice of which option is best for you

To protect the confidentiality of any choices you make

To co-operate with other members of our team and other healthcare providers in order to act in your best interests

To ensure that your health and safety is paramount in everything we do, including following the latest cross infection guidelines and ensuring we have robust practice protocols in place

To ensure we use the latest technology and treatments

To provide access to emergency dental treatment, by appointment, Monday – Saturday

To do all we can to keep to your appointment time - this is not always possible due to the nature of dentistry but we would ask that you be patient

Your Responsibilities

To respect our appointment times

To let us know as soon as possible if you cannot make an appointment

To pay a 50% deposit upon agreement of a treatment plan

To pay for your treatment at the end of each visit

To treat all members of our team with dignity and respect

Failure to Attend Policy

Failing an appointment causes great disruption at the practice and will incur a charge of £20 for every 15 minutes allocated to your appointment in all cases. Even if you receive benefits and do not normally pay for your treatment you will still be liable to the charge. The Operations Manager has the discretion to waive the charge only in very exceptional circumstances and may require documented evidence to support any such claim.

If the failed appointment is part of a course of treatment, Falkirk Dental Care reserves the right to cancel any subsequent appointments to avoid further cost to the practice. This can be avoided by paying the charge in full as soon as possible after the failed appointment and providing the practice with confirmation that future appointments will be attended. You may be asked to pay a deposit in advance.

Regrettably we will not be able to schedule further appointments until these charges are paid in full.
