Crown Lengthening

If you are looking at this page it's because a dentist has suggested that you have a crown lengthening procedure carried out or you have read an article about gummy smiles!

Some people have what’s called a gummy smile.

This is when you smile and you show a lot of gum and maybe your teeth are too small and are surrounded by a sea of gum..Crown lengthening can help improve this.

The conventional way of lengthening crowns is to cut your gum, lift a gum flap, remove the bone underneath and then stitch the gum in its new position, let it heal and then make crowns and veneers for your teeth that will now be bigger than your original teeth.

At Falkirk Dental Care we are highly experienced at carrying out this procedure...

OR WE CAN USE THE LATEST TECHNOLOGY IN LASER DENTISTRY AND CARRY OUT A CROWN LENGTHENING PROCEDURE THAT DOESN’T INVOLVE LIFTING YOUR GUM AND PLACING STITCHES

now that’s fantastic!

Crown lengthening can also be used in situations where you just have a root of a tooth left that can't be fixed because there is not enough tooth above the gum, so a crown lengthening procedures can be carried out to expose more tooth, so the dentist can then fix it for you back to being a tooth.
